Yellow Belt Awareness Training
A one day session, Yellow Belt “Awareness” (YB) provides provide participants with a working knowledge of a Lean Six Sigma program, methodology and processes. The course methodology is delivered as an interactive, business simulation. This simulation has the participants assume roles within an organization and apply the DMAIC/DFSS improvement methodology and improvement tools on the simulated process. As a team, they move a poorly functioning process to higher levels of performance through the use of methods and tools including project chartering, process capability, process mapping, narrowing critical process variables, Pareto charts, histograms, box plots, descriptive statistics, run charts, cause and effect matrix and developing and implementing pilot solutions. This training is delivered to a broad employee population to build awareness and cultural change in preparation for a Lean Six Sigma initiative.
Black Belt Training
By completing this course of study, you will gain a solid general knowledge of the theory, composition and implementation of a Lean Six Sigma initiative. You will also become proficient in all of the analytical tools necessary to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control Lean Six Sigma improvement projects, including the design and analysis of general and fractional factorial experiments. You will learn team leadership and project management skills. In short, as a Black Belt you will master the skills necessary to lead a complex process improvement project that produces bottom-line results. Some of the lessons in Lean Six Sigma Black Belt include: Value Stream Leverage, QFD Toolset, Developing a Sample Plan, Charting Process Behavior, Hypothesis Testing, DOE, TOC, Leading Teams. Black Belt training is normally a four-week training program, conducted throughout the course of a process improvement initiative.
Green Belt Training
Green Belts are more “process specific” than Black Belts, possessing experience and subject matter knowledge that is critical to the project’s success. Green Belts work on projects in much the same manner as Black Belts, but the projects are less complex. They also serve a vital role in supporting Black Belts as team members for more complex projects. Green Belt curricula also arms change agents with the necessary tools, concepts and methods that will drive process quality, reduce critical variation, reduce waste, improve cycle times, optimize resources and process flow. Green Belt training is normally conducted in two one-week sessions over the course of a process improvement initiative, allowing Green Belts the opportunity to learn while implementing change.
